We found the whole place interesting and well worth the price of admission. The young man who gave us a tour of the vehicles building was very nice and very knowledgable. Full review by Barbara D

This is a great venue but shows signs of insufficient maintenance and poor artifact curation. Many active displays were "out of order" and some things had no explanations at all. Tires on the old c… Full review by Captcanuk

The Kern County Museum is fun during their special events in December and May, but there is a lot to do here. We have a Kern River Pathway that cuts through our town, and you can rent a bike at Finish Line next to the path. Walking along this area is exciting too. I see roadrunners, rabbits, and coyotes from time to time. Also, there are great restaurants along the Kern River, so stop and have a bite to eat. If you don't like nature, the Tejon Outlets are about 30 minutes south, and Los Angeles is only 1.5 hours away where you can find beaches, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, and much more.
Q:

A:
Not sure about the 1,000 candles, but they are closed on Monday
Q:
Are you open on Christmas day?
A:
Open officially 12-4 Christmas Day but may vary. Closed Monday after instead.
Q:
Are leashed pets allowed?
A:
I don't believe they are, unless they are service digs.
