The CEO of Boeing told employees late Friday that the company plans to cut 10% of its total staff “over the coming months.”

New Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg shared the news in a letter with employees Friday afternoon after the company reported losing nearly $10 a share in the third quarter of 2024.

United Airlines does not expect a strike by factory workers at Boeing to have any impact on its flight schedule for next summer, including new route launches, a top executive at the carrier said on Thursday.

United's most popular Boeing 787-8 routes are IAD to AMS, ORD to AMS, ORD to BCN, and ORD to ATH. The Boeing 787-10 serves routes such as ORD to FRA and features different classes with varying seat numbers.
