NASCAR is headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway for another weekend of Cup and Xfinity Series racing. Both both series, the race at Charlotte is the last opportunity for those fighting in the Playoffs to secure a spot in the Round of 8 which will start in Las Vegas on 19-20 October.

The chaos that was promised at Charlotte Motor Speedway arrived a bit later than expected. NASCAR informed reporters late Sunday — about two hours after the conclusion of the elimination race on Charlotte’s Roval — that it had disqualified the 48 car for failing post-race inspection.

Alex Bowman was disqualified from the Charlotte Roval race on Sunday night and removed from the next round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.
