Before we get to this week's changes in the weekly bowl projections, let's address a change that you may have expected. I still have Ohio State as the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff projections because the Buckeyes' loss to Oregon on Saturday was actually already included in the projections.

In the new, expanded 12-team playoff, the five highest-ranked conference champions will make the field along with the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be awarded first-round byes, with the other eight teams meeting at the campus sites of the Nos. 5-8 seeds.

College Football Playoff projections only get more difficult to make the deeper we get into the 2024 college football season.
