Two giant pandas destined for the Washington zoo arrived in the United States from China on Tuesday.In August, the San Diego zoo welcomed two new giant pandas, the first to be sent by China to the United States in 21 years.

Qing Bao and Bao Li will be the first pandas sent to the US capital in over 24 years. Loaded to the National Zoo for a period of 10 years, the fee paid to the China Wildlife Conservation Society is around one million dollars a year, which is spent on conservation efforts across China.

Two giant pandas are on their way from China to Washington’s National Zoo, traveling on a specially charted plane and kicking off a much-awaited return of the beloved bears to the American capital.
