Five months after the world failed My Lady Jane, Amazon has ordered another adaptation of a YA fantasy book series. On Wednesday, Prime Video announced a series order for Rise of the Empress, based on Julia C. Dao’s duology of the same name.

Crystal Liu and James Wong will be co-showrunners of the drama based on Julie C. Dao's novels. Prime Video is entering another fantasy realm.

Julie C. Dao’s fantasy book series “Rise of the Empress” will come to life on the small screen, as Amazon Prime Video has ordered a series adaptation. “American Horror Story” alums Crystal Liu and James Wong will serve as co-showrunners.
