In their Ranji Trophy match against Baroda, Mumbai reached 63 for 1 at lunch on Day Two, following Baroda's 290. Prithvi Shaw was bowled early by Krunal Pandya, but 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre impressed with 38 runs.

The Baroda bowling unit – led by veteran left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt – wound up Mumbai for 214 to take a handy 76-run lead.
