A disastrous stretch in the second quarter punctuated what was already a rough second quarter for the Oklahoma Sooners against the Texas Longhorns.

This year's showdown between the Sooners and the Longhorns is already a tough ticket, but this year the average get-in price will break the all-time record.

During the 1979 season, Texas improved its record to 4-0 with a 16-7 win over the Sooners in Dallas. John Goodson, who kicked barefooted, made three field goals in the victory. A.J. "Jam" Jones ran for 127 yards to lead the Texas offense while Oklahoma's Billy Sims, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, was held to 73 rushing yards on 20 attempts.
