Attorneys for the state of Florida argued before a federal appeals court Wednesday that a lower-court judge was wrong to block a law last year that bans gender-affirming care for minors and restricts similar care for adults,

A federal judge struck down the law last year, finding it was motivated by transgender animus instead of a legitimate state interest.

It would allow those who are at least 21 years old to possess up to two ounces of marijuana or five grams in concentrated form.
