A series of U.S. airstrikes have targeted several camps run by the Islamic State group in Syria. The U.S. military said the operation will disrupt the extremists from conducting attacks in the region and beyond.

The airstrikes occurred early morning Friday, according to a statement posted to X Saturday morning. “The strikes will disrupt the ability of ISIS to plan, organize and conduct attacks against the United States, its allies and partners and civilians throughout the region and beyond,” the U.S. Central Command said.
