Part of the pleasure of their journey is seeing who they’ll encounter along the way. “One of Them Days” though, blessedly, is not packed with super famous people. Instead, the obstacles for Dreux and Alyssa are simply played by sharp comic actors at the top of their game.

They’re girlz in the hood. Two young women trying to make it from “Friday” and “Next Friday” to “Friday After Next.”

Prior to its release, this film was dubbed the “female version of Friday.” Considering the major cult classic status of the 1995 iconic film, that title is a lofty one to live up to, but One of Them Days is certainly off to a good start.

The Issa Rae-produced film came together from the CoCre lab at Sony Pictures, which was a pact between Hoorae Media's ColorCreative and Sony Pictures to source and produce emerging diverse screenwriters to write and develop their first studio features based on original ideas.
