Humpback whale that washed ashore in Kitty Hawk has necropsy before beach clean up
OUTER BANKS, N.C. — Marine biologists in Kitty Hawk performed a necropsy Saturday morning on a humpback whale that washed ashore Friday, and News 3 is following through with marine experts as we await the test results.

Witnesses found the 5-10-year-old juvenile humpback whale in Kitty Hawk, near the Bennett Street Beach Access and reported it around 8 a.m., according to Marina Doshkov, stranding coordinator with the OBX Marine Mammal Stranding Network.
