Top to Bottom Snowfall Reported at Maine Ski Resorts
A persistent high pressure system has finally broken in the Intermountain West, meanwhile, ski resorts in Maine are reporting their first substantial snowfall of the season. Check out the webcam photos below from Saddleback, Maine on October 14, 2024. Flakes fell from the top to the bottom of the mountain, and low-lying clouds are still lingering.
Ski areas in Maine see snow, including one resort with 'snowliage'
Snow has fallen in the Western Maine Mountains more than two weeks before Halloween, and two of the state's largest ski areas have shared photos of the conditions. Saddleback in Rangeley shared photos captured from its cameras Monday morning that showed a layer of snow from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain.
Maine peaks see first snowfall of the season
The timing of this year's first snow is 'pretty well in-step' with what the National Weather Service usually observes, according to a meteorologist in the Gray office.
