Xbox Game Pass has made its first announcement of the year, and though it isn't exactly bursting at the seams, it's going to catch players with nostalgia hook, line and sinker.

Microsoft announced its first wave of Xbox Game Pass games coming in January. Seven games total are coming to the subscription service, one of which is one of the most beloved and influential ARPGs of all time.

Xbox Game Pass has revealed its lineup for the first half of January, and subscribers aren't too impressed so far.

Along with these, we already know that six games will leave Xbox Game Pass in early January 2025, including the likes of Exoprimal and Insurgency: Sandstorm. These will remain at least 20% off until they're removed from the service.

Xbox shared the news in a January 7 announcement, which lists everything coming to Game Pass in the first half of the month, including Lightyear Frontier and EA Sports UFC 5. It also, rightly, describes the legendary 1997 game Diablo as "the groundbreaking action-RPG that defined the genre."

Xbox Game Pass is set to lose six titles on December 31, marking the final wave of games leaving the popular subscription service in 2024.

A new year brings new improvements to the Microsoft Rewards program, and specifically for Xbox Game Pass Quests! Xbox is announcing an overhaul today for Quests that should ultimately result in players earning more points this year.

Xbox Game Pass, and if everything goes to plan, 2025 could be an even bigger year for the subscription service.
