North Carolina's public inauguration ceremony scheduled for Saturday for new Gov. Josh Stein and other statewide elected officials has been canceled because of approaching winter weather, the state inaugural committee announced Wednesday.

NORTH CAROLINA (WLOS) — North Carolina's Governor-elect, Josh Stein, was officially sworn in as the state's 76th governor on Jan. 1.

Stein has been the attorney general for the past eight years, following Cooper in the elected law-enforcement post that Cooper himself had held for the 16 years previous.
