NATO’s ‘Steadfast Noon’ drill begins the day after US president Joe Biden said he was ready to negotiate on nuclear issues with Russia

NATO has begun a major nuclear exercise in Europe after Vladimir Putin announced terrifying changes to Russia's doctrine allowing Moscow to use his bombs more freely.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) began its annual nuclear exercises, Steadfast Noon, on Monday. More than 60 aircraft are participating, including those capable of carrying American nuclear warheads.
