An arrest has been made following reports of a shooting at a church in Burnet County on Sunday. According to the Burnet County Sheriff's Office, a thorough investigation revealed that details of the incident were significantly "fabricated.

A friend of the man accused of fabricating a story about armed suspects after firing shots near a Burnet County church is speaking out.

U.S. 281, in Burnet. Deputies determined shots were fired from a member of the church's "volunteer safety team." According to the statement, the church member told the deputies on the scene he confronted two "suspicious" males outside the church,

The Burnet County Sheriff’s Office says on Oct. 6, at around 10:30 a.m., deputies were sent to the Church at the Epicenter in reference to a welfare check after an unknown 911 call.

Burnet County Sheriff Calvin Boyd said investigators spent most of Sunday and part of Monday searching for two men who Tarver said were involved in what turned out to be a false report. He did not provide a motive for Tarver's report but said that his mental health had been evaluated by authorities. Boyd declined to comment further about it.

Texas man Jacob Wayne Tarver was arrested and charged with two felonies for reporting a false shooting threat at the Church at the Epicenter in Burnet.
