San Francisco – Hundreds of Northern California residents have been ordered to evacuate from their homes in an Oakland neighborhood as a fast-moving fire grew along a hillside Friday afternoon, a fire official said.

The Dutch Fire sparked about 3:30 p.m. along Lowell Hill Road near the Dutch Flat Forebay’s dam in Nevada County and burned at a moderate rate of spread near the border with Placer County, according to Cal Fire’s Nevada-Yuba-Placer unit.
