Two roads that were blocked in Grant County by a train derailment have since reopened, Kentucky Sate Police said. State Sen. Matt Nunn, R-Sadieville, said in a release that a train derailed in Scott County Thursday night.

A train derailment near Georgetown, Kentucky is leading to blocked streets in Grant County. The train derailed in Scott County on Thursday. Because of that, a train has stopped in Grant County, blocking the entrances to Sherman Newtown Road and the south entrance of Needham Lane in Dry Ridge.

A train had to come to a stop in northern Kentucky due to a train derailment in central Kentucky. Kentucky State Police said this means there are roads blocked in the Dry Ridge community in Grant County.

“Norfolk Southern has shut down KY32 from the fire station to the tunnel as they attempt to clear the wreckage and equipment,” the Scott County Sheriff’s Office said. “Traffic in and out of Sadieville will be diverted until they have completed the cleanup.”
