One person has died in an accident at a Teller County tourist mine. Another four people were injured and 12 people are still trapped about 1,000 feet underground. There are children involved as well. Eleven people have already been rescued from the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine near Cripple Creek.

An equipment failure at the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine near Cripple Creek had stranded 12 people who were on a tour underground for hours.

Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell identified a man who died in a gold mine elevator accident on Friday as Patrick Weier. Weier lived in Victor and left behind a 7-year-old son.
