Hurricane center forecasters are watching another potential tropical disturbance in the central Atlantic this week. There's a 60 percent chance of it becoming a named system in about a week, forecasters say.

For now, the system does not appear to be a threat to the mainland U.S. Still, the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola and southeast Bahamas should remain on guard.

At least 92 people remain missing in North Carolina, weeks after Hurricane Helene battered the western part of the state, according to North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper's updated numbers Tuesday.

Nearly 100 people are still missing across the western part of North Carolina that was left devastated weeks ago by Hurricane Helene. Governor Cooper announced the formation of a task force to locate the 81 people who remain missing while touring the region.

At least 95 storm-related deaths have been recorded in the state, a total that's still “expected to rise over the coming days," the governor's office said
