United Airlines is adding new overseas destinations in what the carrier calls its largest international expansion.

United Airlines is adding eight new international destinations in 2025, with all the new flights departing from Newark.

United Airlines is launching its largest international expansion ever, adding eight new destinations and over 760 weekly flights for summer 2025.

While cities that do not bring in a lot of passenger traffic are usually served by low-cost and other smaller airlines, occasionally mainstream airlines see demand for underserved destinations in certain states.

The Airline is set to launch its largest international expansion in summer 2025, adding flights to eight new cities.

United will also be launching several more notable new transatlantic flights out of Newark next summer, including nonstops to Palermo, Sicily on May 21; Bilbao, Spain on May 31; and Faro and Madeira Island, Portugal on May 16 and June 7, respectively.

From Newark, United will open five new routes to cities that no other U.S. airline currently serves. These comprise Nuuk, Greenland; Palermo, Italy; Bilbao, Spain; and Faro and Madeira in Portugal. Washington Dulles will see three new routes, with year-round operations to Dakar, Senegal, and seasonal flights to Nice, France, and Venice, Italy.
